Substrate Preparation

- The underlying surface must be flat, solid, thoroughly dry in depth, free of grease, dirt and dust, and should have a uniform colour depending on the material to be applied. 

- Remove and isolate ballpoint, oil, pencil, chalk marks, etc. from the surface. 

- Completely remove existing Wallcoverings and backing papers. 

- The temperature of the underlying surface must be at least 10℃, moisture content should not exceed 6%. 

Primer Sealer Preparation & Application 

Yorklon Primer Sealer product should dilute with water before application, please refer to below ratio for reference. 

- It is recommended that the Yorklon primer sealer to be applied with a block brush. 

- It is recommended to brush primer sealer twice or more, with 30 mins time interval to ensure the prior layer is dry and flat. 

- If Yorklon primer sealer is used undiluted, it will be easier to remove the wall coverings after a sufficient period of time. 

- After applying Yorklon primer sealer it is important to dry the surface, normally 5 - 24 hours depending on actual condition. 

- In case of direct contact with eyes, rinse with water immediately and seek for medical advice if necessary. In case of falling to the ground, please wipe and clean it immediately with wet towel. 

- Store in a shady, dry, well-ventilated room and avoid direct contact with sunlight, recommended temperature to be 5 - 35 ℃.

Surface Measure & Wall Covering Preparation 

Step 1: measure the surface to be applied with wall coverings and make a strip placement plan. Where several rolls are to be applied, start with the highest roll number. Number the rolls for each surface to be applied. 

Step 2: cut the strips at wall height plus 4 cm, to allow for trimming at ceiling and the skirting levels

Step 3: after Yorklon Primer Sealer application, the temperature of the underlying surface must be at least 10℃, moisture content should not exceed 6%, the surface should be flat and dry. 

Adhesive Preparation & Application 

Yorklon super wall covering adhesive: 

Yorklon super wall covering adhesive is a professional adhesive product tailor-made for Yorklon wall coverings. Raw material imported from overseas, the adhesive doesn't need to dilute with water and can be applied directly, easier for construction, odourless and environmental-friendly. 

Yorklon wall covering special adhesive: 

Yorklon wall covering special adhesive is a professional adhesive product tailor-made for Yorkon wall coverings. Raw material imported from overseas, its good fluidity and excellent moisturizing performance can solve various adhesion problems. It is a better solution comparing to existing Products in the market. 

The box contains: 1/ a bag of anti-mildew liquid; 2/ a bag of special adhesive powder. 

A box of Yorklon wall covering special adhesive can cover 15 - 20 sqm, and can be adjusted according to actual construction situation. 

Step 1: prepare 4L clean water; 

Step 2: add in the anti-mildew liquid and stir the water at the same time; 

Step 3: add in Yorklon special adhesive powder at an even speed, continue to stir the mixture for 20 seconds; 

Step 4: place the mixture for 30 mins until it turns sticky, stir the mixture again before applying accordingly; 

Step 5: brush the adhesive evenly on the back of the wall coverings as stated in the next session.

Wall Covering Adhesion  

Step 1: brush the adhesive evenly on the back of the wall coverings, fold the wall covering by half for 3 - 5 mins for the adhesive to penetrate into the material; 

Step 2: place strip no. 1 on the wet adhesive against the plumb line so that the material overruns a few centimetres near the ceiling, skirting board and corners; 

Step 3: run the spatula firmly the wall in the longitudinal direction of the strip, expel trapped air from beneath the wall covering; 

Step 4: for an external corner, the material should be wrapped round the corner for at least 30 cm; 

Step 5: with a snap off blade knife, make a vertical incision of +4 cm through the two overlapping strips near the ceiling. Cut through the overlapping pieces in the vertical direction, ensure that the overlapping strip is held taut; 

Step 6: after cutting, remove the bottom strip, close the joint and flatten the area created using a spatula. After placing 3 to 4 drops, cut off the excess at the ceiling and the plinth using a spatula and snap off blade knife, immediately remove excess adhesive residues using clean water, and dry-off the area. 

Check & Maintenance 

- It is strongly recommended to clean and wipe away the adhesive, which is left on the cutting edges and floor, right after the adhesion. 

- It is recommended to check the condition the day after and make amendment accordingly.
